Why I built TrainBase
I'm Brian Szender. I'm a physician, and I built TrainBase for my own practice.
Every time someone new started, we did what most practices do: we paired them with our most experienced MA for a week and hoped the rest stuck. It mostly worked, but it meant her own work waited, and for months afterward the questions kept coming, usually while she was rooming a patient or chasing an authorization.
We tried recording her and saving the videos to a shared folder. Nobody opened it. When a new hire is stuck, she doesn't go digging through files. She asks a person, because a person answers the question she actually has.
So I built something that works the way she already works. The experienced person records a workflow once, while doing the job. A new hire asks the question she would have asked, and gets the answer from the practice's own videos, with the exact moment cited. And because those screens have patients on them, nothing goes live until a person on your team has approved it. I wouldn't run anything less careful in my own practice.
